Amarnath Cave
Amarnath cave is located in the Himalayas of Jammu & Kashmir, it has on height of 3,888 meters. This divine cave is dedicated to Lord Shiva and It is one of the sacred sites in the Hindu region. In this holy cave, Lord Shiva narrated the secret of life and death. Inside the cave, a Linga of ice which is a symbol of Baba Bholenath Ji. Story of Amarnath Ji - Amar Katha
Once when Parvati asked Shankar ji for the secret of becoming immortal. Answering this, Lord Shiva said that for this you will have to listen to Amar Katha. It was fixed that Amar's story would be heard wherever we were alone and no other living being. By doing this no creature will be able to hear the immortal secret. He chose Amarnath Cave. First, he left his Nandi in Pahalgam. He freed the moon from his hair At Chandanwadi. He released the snakes on the banks of Sheshnag Lake. Baba Bholenath ji entered the Amarnath cave along with Mother Parvati and took Samadhi there. After that, Shiva created Kalaagni and ordered him to spread fire to destroy all living things in and around the sacred cave. Then, Shankar ji starts to tell the immortal secret Katha (Amar Katha) to Devi Parvati Ji. Then Shankar ji started narrating the immortal story to Goddess Parvati ji. It is said that the pair of pigeons heard this story and immortal. Even today a pair of pigeons are still visible despite the harsh snow and cold.
