Today, on Thursday, the police and administrative officials extended a grand welcome to these devotees by showering flowers from a helicopter. The ADG Law and Order, V Murugesan, along with SSP Ajay Singh and other officials, took part in this gesture of respect and admiration for the pilgrims.
During the second day of the Kanwar Mela, an impressive number of 8.50 lakh Kanwariyas filled their containers with the holy Ganga Jal and embarked on their journey toward their designated destination. In just two days since the Kanwar fair commenced on Tuesday, a staggering total of 9.60 lacks Kanwariyas have successfully obtained the sacred Gangajal. On the first day, 1.10 lakh Kanwariyas from various states reached Haridwar and were able to fill their containers with the blessed water of the Ganges.
The first day of the Kanwar Mela witnessed a relatively low number of Shiva devotees, but the situation quickly changed on the second day as the influx of devotees began to surge. A significant increase in the number of devotees was observed from the Harki Paidi area to Kanwar Mela Bazar, located in Pantdweep’s Rodibelwala. Senior Superintendent of Police, Ajay Singh, confirmed the continuous rise in the number of Kanwariyas. On the second day alone, an impressive count of eight lakh 50 thousand Kanwariyas departed with the revered Gangajal. Within just two days, a staggering total of nine lakh 60 thousand Kanwariyas set off for their respective destinations, carrying the sacred water of the Ganges.
