The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has made elaborate arrangements for the holy Kailash Mansarovar Yatra which is starting again after 5 years. UP Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh will flag off the first batch from Ghaziabad on June 15. This journey will run from June to August 25, 2025. Due to the Corona epidemic, this journey was postponed for the last few years. In such a situation, special enthusiasm is being seen among the devotees due to the resumption of this yatra. At the same time, the government has also made large scale arrangements for this holy pilgrimage.
50 pilgrims will go in one group
The pilgrims of this Yatra will be flagged off from Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Bhawan located in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad on 15th June. This building has been constructed by the charitable works department of the UP government. At the same time, it is being operated by Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (UPSTDC).
During this Yatra, a total of 15 batches will be sent to Kailash Mansarovar via Lipulekh (Uttarakhand) and Nathu-la (Sikkim). Each batch will consist of 50 pilgrims. The government has made strong arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Yatra and the convenience of the pilgrims.
An ideal centre of facilities will be built
Regarding this yatra, Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh said that all kinds of arrangements have been made for the pilgrims by the Charitable Works Department and UPSTDC. Pilgrims get all the facilities at one place in Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Bhawan located in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. This Bhawan is fully air-conditioned and has the facility to accommodate 288 pilgrims at a time.
A canteen is available on the ground floor of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Bhavan. Not only this, yoga sessions will be organized daily in the Yatra Bhavan, which will be conducted under the supervision of trained yoga gurus. Along with this, cultural and spiritual events like bhajan sandhya will also be organized.
Pilgrims will get facilities
Sanatan and spiritual literature has also been made available in the Yatra Bhavan premises for the mental and religious development of the pilgrims. Devotees can read books according to their interest. Apart from this, a health center has also been set up in the campus, where medical checkup will be done by a team of doctors.
Officers and employees of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), District Administration and Tourism Corporation will be available continuously for security and service arrangements. Literature and brochure kits related to the tourism department will also be given to the travelers in the premises.
About 800 passengers will stay here
Tour packages, transport and ticketing services will also be provided through the travel desk present in the complex. Passengers will be welcomed as per Indian tradition. The presence of about 800 pilgrims and staff is estimated in the building during the Yatra period i.e. from 11 June to 25 August 2025. These preparations made by the UP government not only ensure the convenience of the devotees but also give a new direction to religious tourism.
KMVN will take over the responsibility of Uttarakhand:
The responsibility of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in Uttarakhand has been handed over to KMNV i.e. Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam. However, Lipulekh Pass is the main route for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Actually, KMNV has been successfully conducting the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra since 1981. The journey to Kailash Mansarovar starts from Delhi, Then it is completed through Uttarakhand via Lipulekh Pass in Pithoragarh district. Whereas the journey through Sikkim Nathula Pass has been continuing since 2015. The journey is organised with the support of Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation (STDC).
The last Kailash Mansarovar Yatra was held in the year 2019. In the year 2020, it was postponed due to the Corona epidemic. After that, the journey could not start due to the dispute between India and China over the Galwan Valley. Now, after the agreement between India and China, the journey is starting again. Visa is mandatory for this journey because this area falls in Tibet occupied by China. Therefore, approval of the Chinese government is necessary for this journey.
