Overview of Van Vihar National Park
Van Vihar National Park is located on the hill near a big pond in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. This National Park is spread over 445.21 hectares. With the modern concept of zoo management, 'Van Vihar National Park' has been the natural habitat of vegetarian and non-vegetarian animals. The carnivorous animals found in this park include tigers, white tigers, leopards, hyena and dull bears. The wild animals of the park are captured in large enclosures and kept completely safe. In 'Van Vihar National Park' animals like Chital, Sambar, Black deer, Blue bulls, Chausingha, Langur, Rhesus monkey, Rabbits can be seen roaming freely. In this National Park of Bhopal, Gharial, Crocodile, Turtle and Snake species are also found. During the winter, many varieties of migratory birds are visible in the upper valley on the south-west border. Nearly two hundred species of birds have been seen here in the park. Often seen migratory birds include pintails, spot bills, bare-headed geese, spun bills, painted storks, open beak storks and purple heron.
How to reach Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal
It is situated in the heart of Bhopal, just five kms away from the railway station and bus stand. This National Park is open for tourists throughout the year.
