Rudraprayag Travel Guide
Rudraprayag is located on confluences ( Sangam) of two rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini in Uttarakhand. Rudraprayag is surrounding by Uttarkashi district on North, Chamoli district on East, Pauri Garhwal district on south and Tehri Garwal district on west. Alaknanda goes to Devprayag and finally confluence Bhagirithi and generate to Holy Ganga. Famous Hindu holy place, Kedarnath or one of the Dham in Chaar Dham is 76 kilometer form the Rudraprayag.
Name of Rudraprayag - Rudraprayag is deducated to the Loard Shiva because the name of Rudraprayag is on the name of Loard Shiva and beauty of Alaknanda and Mandakani confluence is itself very attractive for tourist and holy place for Hindus. Loard Narad Muni worshiped to Loard Shiva and being happy of prayer or worship of Narad Muni , Lorad Shiva came in Rudra face for this face of Rudra of Lorad Shiva , the name of this place is called Rudraprayag.

Kedarnath Temple - Kedarnath is one the Holy place for Hindu religious and one dham (Ek dham) out of Chaardham. Kedarnath is very popular temple in Rudraprag and dedicated to Lorad Shiva. Loard kedarnath is one in twelve ling (Jyotilinga) of Lord Shiva and Lord Shiva also known as Kedarnath. It is situated on top of snow covered peaks of Himalayan.
Guptkashi Temple - Guptkashi is similar to Kashi and two major rivers Ganga and Yamuna meet this place. Loard Shiva went to kedarnath form Guptkashi because Pandavo after Mahabharata war likely wanted to meet Lord Shiva but Lord Shiva did not want to meet to Pandavo so Loard Shiva left this place.
Sonprayag - Sonprayag is come on the way of Kedarnath and another religious place for Hindus. It called if anybody touch the holy water of Sonprayag helps to reach Bekhunt Dham. Sonprayag is very popular place, this is that place where Loard Shiva marry to Mata Parvati.
Augustmuni Temple - Augustmuni temple is situated on the bank of Mandakni River and it is that place where for long period Augustmuni worship or austerity. As far as many devotee come here for their great faith in their loard or Eastdev.

Gorikund - It is 5 kilometer far from Sonprayag and it is last bus stand in the way of Kedarnath. People take bath and then go to visit Goddess Gori Devi temple and this is a temple where Parvati Mata austerity to Lard Shiva.
