Kedarnath Yatra 2023: Offline new registration was banned till June 16, crowd of devotees was reaching beyond capacity
To control the influx of devotees in Kedarnath Dham, the administration and tourism department have taken measures to control the crowd. Consequently, the ban on offline new registration has been extended till June 16. Moreover, the option of online registration has already been suspended. The number of pilgrims visiting the revered Char Dham Yatra has crossed 25 lacks.
Since the commencement of the Chardham Yatra on April 22, an impressive number of 43.82 lakh pilgrims have already registered to visit Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. Among these destinations, there is a notable surge in enthusiasm among devotees specifically for the Kedarnath pilgrimage. The footfall has been substantial, with up to 25 thousand visitors arriving daily at the revered Kedarnath Dham.

To address the situation, the Administration and Tourism Department took steps to manage the crowd at Kedarnath Dham. Initially, online registrations were suspended until June 16, and offline registrations were halted until June 10. However, now the ban on offline registration has been extended until June 16 as well. This means that only those individuals who had previously registered will be permitted to visit Kedarnath Dham, ensuring a controlled number of visitors during this period.
The ban on online and offline registration is only for Kedarnath Dham Yatra, while registration is open for Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri Dham.
