The railway station premises were adorned with vibrant decorations, resembling a beautiful bride, to give a warm welcome to the train. The Vande Bharat train itself was embellished with colorful flowers, adding to the festive spirit. People were eager to capture this historic moment in their selfies, photos.
There was an overwhelming sense of enthusiasm surrounding the launch of the first semi-high-speed train in Uttarakhand. On the beautifully decorated platform, leaders took to the stage to describe this momentous occasion as a dream come true for the state. However, amidst the excitement, there were skeptics who believed that a hilly state like Uttarakhand would never see the day when a Vande Bharat train would operate.

As the train stood on the platform, the children eagerly awaited the opportunity to step inside and explore. However, due to security reasons, the staff was unable to allow them in. The excitement and joy on the children’s faces were undeniable, reflecting their eagerness to experience the train firsthand. Although they couldn’t enter, their happiness was evident to all.

At 11 am on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to inaugurate the train remotely by pressing a button from Delhi. The preparations to welcome people at the station began as early as nine o’clock in the morning. Individuals of all age groups, including school children, eagerly arrived at the station, not only to witness the inauguration but also to embark on a journey aboard the train. As the clock struck 10 o’clock, the platform constructed within the station premises was already filled with a bustling crowd.
The enthusiasm for the Vande Bharat train extended to the BJP leaders as well, who were visibly excited about its inauguration. They enthusiastically took photographs.
The inauguration of Vande Bharat attracted numerous ministers, local MLAs, MPs, and dignitaries, including the Governor, Chief Minister, and Union Minister of State for Defense. Their presence led to a significant impact on traffic, causing disruptions from Lalpul to Darshanlal Chowk starting from 9 am. The heavy congestion resulted in several VIPs getting stuck in the traffic jam. but it took approximately two hours to restore normalcy and ease the congestion.

Earlier, the artists in traditional attire presented folk dance and songs. The auspicious song Daina Hoya Khola Ka Ganesha Hai⦠is often hummed in the mountain including auspicious functions and cultural evenings. Garh Ratna Laek singer Narendra Singh Negi has invoked the deities to be pleased and appear in this song.
