The overwhelming response is evident in the registration figures, with over 3.70 lakh pilgrims having already registered for Kedarnath Dham. With the opening of the doors of Kedarnath Dham slated for 25th April, the tourism department has taken proactive measures by initiating the registration process for Chardham Yatra two months in advance, starting from 21st February. This year, it has been made mandatory for pilgrims from all over the world to register for the yatra, while the local residents of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Rudraprayag districts are exempted from registration. However, the slots for registration to visit Kedarnath Dham from 25th to 27th April have already been filled, and online registrants are now being allotted dates after 27th April to embark on their pilgrimage to Kedarnath Dham. Meanwhile, registration slots are still available for Badrinath Dham, Yamunotri, and Gangotri Dham, indicating the varying demand and availability for different pilgrimage destinations in the Chardham Yatra.

The much-awaited Chardham Yatra is set to commence with the opening of the doors of Badrinath Dham on 27th April, while Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham will open on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya on 22nd April. Yogendra Gangwar, the Joint Director of the Tourism Department, shared that there is a remarkable level of enthusiasm among the devotees this year for the pilgrimage. The registration slots for Kedarnath Dham have already been filled up until 27th April, indicating the overwhelming response from pilgrims.
