On Monday morning, Rawal Bhima Shankar Ling left for Kedarnath from Ukhimath in preparation for the opening of Kedarnath Dham on April 25th. The Chal Utsav Vigraha Doli of Kedarnath also reached its last stop, Gaurikund, on Sunday and spent the night at the Gauri Mai temple. The doli will reach its final destination, Kedarnath, on Monday and will spend the night at Rawal Niwas. On April 25th, the doors of Kedarnath temple will be opened at an auspicious time. On Sunday morning, the priest appointed for Kedarnath Shivling performed aarti and bhog, as well as other religious traditions, after anointing Baba Kedar in Phata.

A large number of devotees visited the idol

On the occasion of the opening of the Kedarnath temple, the villagers of Phata, Badasu, Ravigram, Jamu, and Khat villages visited the idol of Baba Kedar to seek blessings for their families happiness and prosperity. After the prayers, Baba’s Chal Utsav Vigraha Doli departed for Kedarnath Dham at 9 am. The doli made its way to Sonprayag via Rampur and Sitapur, accompanied by the cheers of devotees and the music of an army band. A large number of devotees also gathered at Sonprayag to visit the deity and seek blessings.

In the afternoon, Baba Kedar’s Chal Utsav Vigraha Doli arrived at Gaurikund, which is the last populated stop before Kedarnath. The doli will spend the night at the Gauri Mai temple and special prayers were offered jointly to Baba Kedar and Maa Gauri, followed by the performance of aarti and the offering of bhog. The doli will leave for Kedarnath on Monday, its final destination.
