Baba Neem Karoli established the foundation of Kainchi Dham on 15th June 1964. On the occasion of the foundation day of Kainchi Dham, a fair held every year on 15 June, thousands of devotees reach this fair that day. It is said that Neem Karoli Baba was the incarnation of Hanuman Ji. There are many temples of Baba Neem Karori in India but Kainchi Dham of Nainital is a world famous temple.

It is about 65 km away from Nainital and 37 km from Kathgodam. Kathgodam is the nearest Railway Station where major city trains arrive and depart from here.
