The police have taken proactive measures to manage traffic during the Kanwar fair by implementing a route diversion plan. Starting from July 9 to 17, the entry of heavy vehicles will be restricted within the city. In order to accommodate the large crowds expected at the fair, a dynamic traffic plan has been devised, which will be adjusted according to the specific needs of each day.

- To address the issue of heavy traffic in Haridwar, a diversion plan has been implemented for vehicles approaching from the Delhi Meerut side. In such cases, these vehicles will be redirected to Haridwar via the Nangla Imarti Service Lane, specifically the NH 334 route through Landaura Laksar.
- In order to facilitate the movement of vehicles from Punjab and Saharanpur to Haridwar, a specific route has been designated by authorities. These vehicles will be directed from Bhagwanpur NH-344 to Bijauli Abdul Kalam Chowk, utilizing the Nangla Imarti service lane. They will be guided toward Haridwar via the Landaura Laksar route.
- In order to streamline the movement of vehicles bound for Dehradun and other hilly areas, a diversion plan has been put into effect. All vehicles traveling in that direction will be redirected from Rampur Tiraha in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, and guided towards Dehradun and the hilly regions using the Deoband Gagalhedi Mohand route. This strategic diversion aims to enhance the efficiency and safety of travel for vehicles heading towards Dehradun and the hilly areas, ensuring smoother traffic flow and minimizing congestion along the way.
- To optimize the traffic flow for vehicles bound for Najibabad and the Kumaon region, a diversion plan has been enacted. All vehicles heading in that direction will be redirected from Vilaspur Tiraha and directed from Najibabad towards the Kumaon region via Mirapur in Bijnor.
- During regular days, a diversion plan has been implemented for vehicles heading toward Najibabad and the Kumaon region. These vehicles will be directed towards Kumaon via the Nangla Imarti Service Lane on NH 334, passing through Landaura Laksar and Balawali. From there, the route will continue towards Bijnor via Najibabad.
- To streamline the movement of vehicles traveling from Delhi, Meerut, and Muzaffarnagar to Dehradun, a diversion plan has been put in place. These vehicles will be redirected from the Bijauli Service Lane at Abdul Kalam Chowk and guided towards Dehradun via Bhagwanpur NH-344, passing through Mandawar and Mohand

- During the period from July 2 to July 8, a restriction on the entry of heavy vehicles has been imposed in the city, except for those involved in essential services. Between the hours of 5 am and 11 pm, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering the city.
- Between July 9 and 17, a restriction will be imposed on the entry of heavy vehicles, excluding those engaged in essential services. During this period, heavy vehicles will not be permitted to enter.
- From July 2 to July 7, all vehicles will be required to follow the predetermined route without any deviations. During this period, there will be no specific diversions or restrictions in place, and vehicles are expected to adhere to their usual routes.
- From July 8 to July 15, a diversion plan will be implemented for all small and large vehicles heading to the Kanwar fair. These vehicles will be directed toward designated parking areas. This measure aims to ensure efficient management of parking spaces and minimize congestion around the fairgrounds.
- During the period from July 8 to July 17, a diversion plan will be implemented for all small and large vehicles entering Haridwar City from the district border. These vehicles will be redirected through alternate routes.
