Registration may be banned till May 10 due to continuous bad weather in Kedarnath Dham

Summary

According to Sanjay Shastri, the Chairman of the Joint Rotation Travel Arrangement Committee, a total of 2708 pilgrims embarked on the Chardham Yatra. The pilgrims were divided into 53 buses, with 49 buses carrying 2601 pilgrims to Chardham and the remaining 107 pilgrims traveling to Do Dham in four buses.

Expansion

Due to the ongoing severe weather conditions in Kedarnath, there is a discussion about temporarily suspending registration for Kedarnath Dham until May 10. However, on Monday, the registration for the other three Dhams from Rishikesh continued as usual. Despite the possibility of registration being suspended for Kedarnath Dham, information about the registration process was still being shared with pilgrims.

According to Premanand, who is in charge of registration at the transit camp, around 800 to 900 pilgrims registered for the Char Dham Yatra on a regular basis. However, due to the onset of cold waves in the plains, it is expected that the government may temporarily suspend the registration for the Kedarnath Yatra until May 10. Meanwhile, the police in Muni Ki Reti advised pilgrims traveling to Badrinath Kedarnath Yatra in Tapovan to prepare for the weather by carrying warm clothes, safety equipment, and medicines to prevent cold-related illnesses.
