Himalaya Diwas 2022: The campaign started 11 years ago in Uttarakhand for the protection of the Himalayas and has entered its 12th year. This year also, preparations are being made to celebrate Himalaya Day in a big way on 9th September. This time the main program will be held on 9th September at Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh.

On the proposal of Dr. Anil Joshi (an environmentalist, green activist, and the founder of Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organization), it was decided to celebrate Himalaya Day every year. Dr. Anil Joshi said that our purpose in celebrating Himalaya Day is to pay tribute to it and awaken new consciousness among the people, especially in the new generation. We have been celebrating this day continuously for the last 12 years.
This time also Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given his consent to the suggestion of celebrating Himalaya Day for a week.
