Proposal for upgradation of four hospitals
Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat emphasized the importance of upgrading hospitals on the Chardham Yatra route to provide better facilities for the pilgrims. The proposal to upgrade Primary Health Centers in Barkot and Bhatwadi in Uttarkashi, Ukhimath in Rudraprayag, and Joshimath Primary Health Center in Chamoli was presented to the Union Health Minister, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, during the meeting. Dr. Rawat’s proposal was well-received, and the Union Minister has requested the Detailed Project Report (DPR) to be submitted for the necessary upgrades. Medical relief points will be made on pedestrian routes

These MRPs will be built to withstand harsh weather conditions such as heavy snowfall and rain. They will be staffed with doctors, pharmacists, and paramedics equipped with ECG machines, portable oxygen cylinders, and essential life-saving medicines. The proposal also outlines plans to station this medical personnel at the MRPs during the travel period. The government’s focus on ensuring the safety and well-being of the pilgrims visiting these holy sites is evident through this initiative.
