International Yoga Day 2023: Yoga festival in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, CM Dhami, and Baba Ramdev did yoga
Today, the scenic land of Uttarakhand, known as Devbhoomi, is ablaze with fervor as International Yoga Day is being joyously celebrated. The Chief Minister, Mr. Dhami, and the revered Baba Ramdev graced the stage and showcased their yoga skills. A magnificent camp was organized in Haridwar, where people of all religions united to spread the message of yoga. The grand celebration of International Yoga Day witnessed a massive turnout, with thousands of individuals gathering in various camps and along the banks of the holy Ganges to engage in the practice of yoga. The atmosphere brimmed with enthusiasm and a shared sense of wellness.
International Yoga Day began with a vibrant session of yoga in the sacred Char Dham region. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami graced the occasion and later arrived in Haridwar. He is set to participate in the main event scheduled at the esteemed Jageshwar Dham. On the eve of Yoga Day, CM Dhami extended a heartfelt appeal to transform the state into the best in the country in terms of yoga, culture, and tourism, coinciding with the state’s 25th anniversary. The focal celebration of International Yoga Day is taking place at Jageshwar Dham in Almora, while an associated event is being held at Surya Mandir in Kosi Katarmal, Almora. The programs promise to be a remarkable amalgamation of spirituality, yoga, and cultural significance.
Furthermore, several programs were meticulously arranged at various sacred sites, including Char Dham sites like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, as well as the 15 Manas Khand temples in the Kumaon region. Other locations such as Harki Paidi in Haridwar, Ganga Resort in Rishikesh, and 300 Ayush Health and Wellness Centers also hosted engaging events. In his message, CM Dhami highlighted that yoga has emerged as a powerful messenger of well-being, spreading its essence of good health not only within the nation but also across the globe.
CM Dhami expressed that yoga has bestowed upon us a distinct and remarkable identity on the global stage. Yoga serves as a unifying force, forging connections among individuals and communities. As a result, the world is wholeheartedly embracing the practice of yoga. He credited the visionary thinking of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this achievement, emphasizing that it fills the citizens of the country with immense pride to witness yoga attaining international recognition.

CM Dhami highlighted that our nation serves as a living embodiment of selfless service to humanity. He emphasized the importance of making Uttarakhand the leading state in the country across multiple domains such as yoga, culture, and tourism as the state celebrates its 25th year. To achieve this ambitious goal, the state government is diligently working on innovative and progressive measures, aiming to bring about a positive transformation and set a new benchmark in these fields.
