The Director of Information Technology and Development Agency (ITDA), Nitika Khandelwal, has invited proposals from private companies to provide lease lines and create WiFi zones in the four Dhams. It is worth noting that in 2018, the administration had already provided free WiFi facilities at nine locations along the Kedarnath Yatra route. The new initiative is expected to further improve the connectivity experience for pilgrims undertaking the Chardham Yatra.
Weather updates will be available on mobile
Weather conditions are a major challenge for pilgrims during the Chardham Yatra. After the month of June, the government makes arrangements according to weather forecasts and sometimes even stops the pilgrimage due to very bad weather. However, to ensure that pilgrims are well-informed about weather conditions, this year, those who register for the pilgrimage by providing their mobile numbers will receive regular updates about the weather on their mobile devices. This will help pilgrims to plan their journey accordingly and avoid any adverse weather-related issues.
