Government to Transfer Naini Saini Airstrip in Pithoragarh to Air Force, Contract to Follow.

In 1991, an airstrip was constructed in Pithoragarh with a runway that is 1510 meters long and 30 meters wide. However, the Civil Aviation Department was not able to develop the airstrip. Due to this, the government has made the decision to transfer the responsibility of the airstrip to the Air Force.

The Naini Saini airstrip located in the border district of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand is set to be handed over to the Air Force by the government. As per the decision, the Air Force will take on the responsibility of expanding and operating the airstrip. However, this move will not affect civil and commercial flights that operate from the airstrip, and they will continue to function as usual.
