Hidimba Devi temple

Hidimba Devi temple - Hidimba Devi temple is located in Manali in Himachal Pradesh and also known as Dhungari Temple in local. It is ancient cave temple and according to Indian Epic Mahabharata, this temple is dedicated to Bheem’s wife Hidimba. Hidimba and his brother Hidimb stay in this forest. She swore that she marry who defeats his brother on fight. So, Bheem fought to Hidimb and killed him. It is one of the popular temples in entire Manali. Who come to visit Manali, they defiantly come to visit Hidimba Devi temple and it is became another tourist place in Manali.

This is amazing temple no such temple architecture anywhere because this temple was built just cutting a single stone and in size looks as a cave , so devotees visit to Hidimba Devi by entered into cave and then worship. Every year on 14 May, Hidimba Devi’ birthday celebrates and lots of devotees and tourist can be seen at this palace. Temple is surrounding of thick deodar trees.

Footprints Worship - There is no idol of Hidimba Devi at Hidimba Devi Temple, only footprints of Devi Hidimba is inside it and devotees worship to footprints.

Demonic ( Raakshasee) - Devi Hidimba ruled at Hidimba Kingdom after she went to forest and performed a hard austerity at hill because she wanted to remove her demonic recognize and later her prayer or austerity made her Devi.
