<\/figure>\n\n\n\n The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority has begun the process of setting a fixed fare for the Kedarnath helicopter service that operates during the Chardham Yatra<\/a><\/strong>. The fare, which will be in place for the next three years, may see an increase of 10 to 20 percent. The fare will be determined through a tender process, where aviation companies will submit their rates and the authority will choose the one that best fits their criteria. In this way, the fare will be set on the basis of the bids submitted by the aviation companies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2020, the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority entered into a three-year agreement with eight companies to provide helicopter services in Kedarnath, with fixed fares from Sirsi, Phata, and Guptkashi. However, the Chardham Yatra was suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and as a result, the helicopter services did not operate during this time. The yatra resumed in 2022 once the situation improved. Due to the rise in the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel, the aviation companies approached the government and requested an increase in the fare. <\/p>\n\n\n\n However, the government did not grant the request to increase the fare due to the three-year contract in place. The Secretary of Civil Aviation, Dilip Jawalkar, stated that the tender process is underway for the Kedarnath helicopter service<\/strong><\/a>, and the fare will only be reevaluated once the companies have submitted their applications.
