The Union Budget 2023 has an allocation of 27 Multiplying times higher than the budget of 2009-14, which was 187 billion Rupees at the time. The budget aims to develop Dehradun and Haridwar into world-class railway stations. The central government has allocated 500.4 billion Rupees for railway projects in Uttarakhand. The military project Rishikesh-Karnaprayag railway project will gain momentum, while Haridwar and Dehradun railway stations will be developed into world-class stations. Modern amenities will also be provided to nine other stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced on Friday that the budget allocation for railway projects in the state of Uttarakhand has been increased by 27 times compared to the allocation in the period of 2009-14, which was approximately INR 187 crore. The goal of this budget is to develop Dehradun and Haridwar railway stations into world-class stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\nCM Dhami spoke about the budget and stated that new airports, nursing colleges, and tourist destinations will be developed in Uttarakhand.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Divisional Railway Manager, Ajay Nandan, stated that a top platform will be built at the Haridwar and Dehradun stations ranging from 45 to 117 meters high. This will have facilities for dining and rest and can be used by common people as well as travelers.

\n\nThe budget allocation for rail projects in the Union Budget 2023 has given Uttarakhand a higher budget compared to other states. Uttarakhand has been allocated 3 times more budget compared to Himachal Pradesh. The budget for Himachal Pradesh is 1538 crores, for Punjab 4762 crores, and for Haryana 2247 crores. The railway managing director, Ajay Nandan, stated that with the increased budget allocation for Uttarakhand, the Rishikesh- Karnaprayag railway line and other projects will receive support in quick execution.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indian Railways is launching the “One Station, One Product” initiative in 750 railway stations across the country. This initiative includes stations like Haridwar and Dehradun. Non-government organizations and local institutions will be setting up stalls to sell local products. Modern facilities such as automatic escalators, expanded platform, modern toilets, traveler restrooms, water ATM booths, etc. will also be provided at stations like Kashi Pur, Lal Kuan, Ramnagar, Tankpur, Kichha, Kathgodam, Harrawala, Rudki, Kotdwara. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\nThe people of Uttarakhand are currently waiting for the launch of Vande Bharat and metro trains in the state. According to the managing director of the railway ministry, there is no provision for Vande Bharat and metro trains in the budget for Uttarakhand.
