Festival Makar Sankranti is one of the Hindu religious festivals and is celebrated by all the Hindu people. Taking bath in the holy river Ganga on this day has great significance. This year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiaeasytrip.com\/kumbh-mela-india\/prayagraj-kumbh-mela.html\">Kumbh Mela 2025<\/a> has started from 13 January. This day is celebrated when the Sun God enters at Makar Rashi. Worship of Sun God and Lord Vishnu has special significance on this day. On Makar Sankranti, when the Sun sets Uttarayan, the sun rises for the gods and for the demons, their night begins when the sun sets. At the beginning of Uttarayan, the days become longer and the nights become shorter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/indiaeasytrip.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/makar-sankranti-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2633\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On this festival, devotees take a dip of faith in the Ganga at sunrise. People donate money, food and clothes to the needy people. Today huge devotees, Sadhu, and Sant take holy bathe at Sangam, Pryagraj. Today is the first Sahi Snan and tomorrow will be the second Sahi Snan.
