Chief Minister Dhami demanded smooth operation of Heli service to Pithoragarh under Regional Connectivity Scheme for Pawan Hans and connecting Almora with Heli service. On this, Union Minister Scindia instructed the officials that from August 26, the air service of Pawan Hans should be made available every day.
The helicopter took off from Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun at 9:05 am on Friday for Almora. According to district administration officials, the helicopter reached Pantnagar but could not reach Almora due to bad weather.
Under the UDAN scheme, the helicopter flying from Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun to Almora could not reach the helipad at Tatik, Almora. Recently, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami demanded permission from Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to operate the Heli service from Dehradun to Almora. The Ministry of Civil Aviation gave its permission to Pawan Hans Company.
