The Chardham Yatra has seen a remarkable registration count, with a total of 41 lakh pilgrims registering for the pilgrimage. Among them, a significant number of 13.38 lakh devotees have specifically registered for the revered Kedarnath Dham. In the month of May, the government took the decision to temporarily halt registration for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra due to the occurrence of frequent adverse weather conditions and to ensure crowd management. This step was taken to prioritize the safety and well-being of the pilgrims undertaking the sacred journey.

Weather is open at the moment but restrictions remain as the Yatris who have registered earlier need to complete their yatra first. According to the statistics of the tourism department, till June 10, more than 20 thousand passengers have registered daily for Kedarnath Dham.

21 lakh passengers have visited in 44 days

In a span of just 44 days, which is roughly one and a half months, an impressive number of over 21 lakh pilgrims have participated in the Chardham Yatra. Simultaneously, the registration count has reached a staggering 41 lakh. Despite facing initial weather-related challenges, the enthusiasm and devotion of the pilgrims remained unwavering. The government is optimistic that this year’s Chardham Yatra will set a new record in terms of the number of devotees undertaking the spiritual journey. This achievement highlights the enduring appeal and significance of the pilgrimage.
