This is the first time that preparations are being made for helicopter service for Yamunotri Dham. Two trials of successful landing have been conducted. The Helipad is ready near Yamunotri Dham. Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority has started efforts to start heli service. Like the Kedarnath helicopter service, now there will be the heli service in Yamunotri Dham also. Char Dham Yatra will continue this year on April 30, 2025. This is good news for those who will not be able to trek at the Yamunotri like the Kedarnath trek. Many old people are not able to travel on foot and trekking in the mountains is very difficult. Now a helipad has been built in Yamunotri and trials for it have been conducted twice, in which the helicopter has landed successfully.
Chardham Helicopter Service
As you can see, the Char Dham helicopter service runs from Dehradun to Dehradun every year. But due to the expensive fare, many needy people could not avail Heli service. There are two temples in Chardham Yatra for which one has to visit Yamunotri and Kedarnath. But soon the heli service will continue for Yamunotri Dham as Kedarnath.
