More than four lakh devotees have visited Chardhamas
Summary
In order to ensure the safety and well-being of the pilgrims, the government has introduced a mandatory registration process for passengers undertaking the Chardham Yatra. This step has been taken to manage the influx of devotees and maintain a sense of order during the pilgrimage. However, the journey has been significantly affected by the persistent bad weather conditions. The unpredictable and unfavorable weather has posed challenges and delays, causing inconvenience to the pilgrims. Authorities are working diligently to address the situation and ensure a smooth and secure experience for all those embarking on the sacred Chardham Yatra.
Expansion
The number of registrations for the Chardham Yatra is on the verge of reaching 2.5 million, with a significant portion of approximately 865,000 passengers registering specifically for the revered Kedarnath Dham. However, due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions, the registration process for Kedarnath Dham has been temporarily suspended until May 8. Consequently, only those individuals who had successfully completed their registration prior to this suspension will be permitted to undertake the journey. This measure aims to ensure the safety and well-being of the registered passengers while managing the limited resources and challenges posed by inclement weather.
In order to ensure a well-managed and organized Chardham Yatra, the government has implemented a mandatory registration process for pilgrims. As the journey to the four sacred Dhams does not have a fixed number of devotees allowed for darshan, the registration system helps in effectively managing the influx of pilgrims. However, the pilgrimage has been significantly impacted by persistent bad weather conditions. According to the records of the tourism department, an impressive number of over 24.53 lakh pilgrims have registered for the Chardham Yatra since February 22. From April 22 to May 5 alone, a noteworthy count of four lakh devotees has already embarked on the pilgrimage. These figures demonstrate the enduring popularity and spiritual significance of the Chardham Yatra, despite the challenges posed by the continuous inclement weather.
Yogendra Gangwar, the Joint Director of Tourism, expressed that there is a remarkable level of enthusiasm among the pilgrims for the Chardham Yatra. However, due to the persistently unfavorable weather conditions, the registration process for Kedarnath Dham has been temporarily halted. Nonetheless, registrations are still being accepted for the other revered Dhams, namely Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. This decision aims to strike a balance between accommodating the fervent devotees and ensuring their safety and convenience during the pilgrimage. Despite the temporary suspension for Kedarnath Dham, the authorities are actively facilitating registrations for the other three Dhams, enabling pilgrims to embark on their spiritual journeys with the necessary arrangements in place.
