Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed confidence that Uttarakhand is fully prepared to host the Chardham Yatra. The revered shrines of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri have undergone extensive improvements to ensure better arrangements for pilgrims coming from all over India and abroad. The Chief Minister personally oversees and reviews the arrangements and preparations to ensure a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage experience. Speaking to the media after an event at Survey of India Hathibarkala, he reiterated that Uttarakhand is all set for the Chardham Yatra, which is scheduled to commence on April 22. The state government is committed to facilitating the journey of devotees with constant monitoring and upgrading of arrangements.
Four meetings have been conducted thus far to discuss and plan the preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has highlighted that the successful marathon event held in Auli recently has sent a positive message to tourists from India and around the world, indicating that Joshimath is also well-prepared for the yatra. The Chief Minister’s statement underlines the efforts being made to ensure that all the necessary arrangements are in place to provide a seamless and memorable pilgrimage experience for the devotees embarking on the Char Dham Yatra.
For the first time, sheds were made in Gaurikund for horses and mules.
The Animal Husbandry Minister, Saurabh Bahuguna, has announced that for the first time, sheds have been set up at Gaurikund to provide accommodation for horses and mules that ply the Kedarnath Yatra route in Uttarakhand. These sheds can accommodate up to 2,000 horses and mules, and so far, 3,800 of them have been registered for the yatra. Sick animals are being excluded from registration to ensure their well-being. In addition, 10 veterinary officers have been deployed along the Yatra route to provide medical care to these animals, and water arrangements have been made at 18 locations. The Minister also emphasized that legal action, including registering cases for animal cruelty, will be taken against any violations on the Yatra route. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to animal welfare and ensuring proper care for the animals involved in the Kedarnath Yatra.
