Itinerary Details

Day 01 - Arrival at Delhi: Welcome to India! Holidays Points executives will assist your boarding and lodging in a pre-booked hotel accommodation on day one of your Classical India and Kerala Backwaters Tour.

Day 02 - Delhi: After breakfast, proceed for full day sightseeing of New and Old Delhi monuments and landmarks like Rajpath, India Gate, President House, Parliament Building, Birla Mandir, Qutab Minar, Humayun's Tomb, Rajghat, Red Fort and Jama Masjid.

Day 03 - Delhi - Varanasi (By air, 1 hr 15 mins):After breakfast, take flight to Varanasi. Visit bathing Ghats of this holy city. In the afternoon, visit Sarnath – the Buddhist pilgrimage center which is 10 kms from Varanasi. Buddha preached his first sermon in 590 BC here. Visit Buddhist monasteries and museum.

Day 04 - Varanasi - Khajurao (40 mins by air): Drive to Daswamedh Ghat in early morning. Enjoy boat ride in river Ganga. Watch the faithful praying in Bharat Mata Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple and the Monkey Temple. Drive past Banaras Hindu University.

Return back to your hotel and take flight to Khajuraho. The city is located on the northernmost part of Madhya Pradesh and is famous for its magnificent temples and the legendary Khajuraho Dance Festival.

Day 05 - Khajuraho - Agra (175 km/4 hrs): On day five of your Classical India and Kerala Backwater Tour, visit Western Group of Temples after breakfast. The temples are dedicated to womanhood, the celebration of woman, her myriad moods and facets. Proceed for Agra in the evening.

Day 06 - Agra : View sunrise at Taj Mahal – a world wonder site. This white marble "symbol of eternal love" was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the loving memory of his wife Mumtaj. It took 20 years to complete. Also visit Agra Fort and the tomb of Itmad ud Duallah, father of Empress Noor Jahan.

Day 07 - Agra - Jaipur: After breakfast, proceed for Agra enroute to Fatehpur Sikri. Also visit 70 feet high Buland Darwaza built by Emperor Akbar as a symbol of victory over Bundelkhand. Continue your journey towards Jaipur.

Day 08 - Jaipur: After breakfast, take an excursion to Amber Fort on an elephant ride. See Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple, and museum in City Palace. Jantar Mantar observatory has outsized astronomical instruments which are used even today. Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh and is famous for its 953 niches and windows.

Day 09 - Jaipur - Udaipur: Take morning flight to Udaipur, also known as the city of lakes and fountains. Enjoy boat ride in the evening in Lake Pichola. Overnight will be at Udaipur.

Day 10 - Udaipur: Proceed for full day sightseeing of Udaipur. Visit Peacock Courtyard and Miniature Painting School in City Palace. Also visit Saas – Bahu Temple in Nagda and Eklanji Temple.

Day 11 - Udaipur - Mumbai - Cochin:Take flight to Mumbai after breakfast. In the evening, proceed for Harbor Cruise and watch dolphins, fishing islands and sunset.

Day 12 - Cochin:After breakfast, proceed for day long sightseeing of Cochin. Your Kerala backwaters package includes visits to the Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets, Vasco Da Gama Square, St. Francis Church, Bolgatty Palace and Vyppin Island. Enjoy Kathakali dance performance in the evening on the twelfth day of your Classical India and Kerala Backwaters Tour.

Day 13 - Cochin:After breakfast, proceed for the Kerala backwaters tour. Kerala backwaters are unique in the world and are a self sustaining eco – system. Day 15 - Mumbai - HomeProceed for sight seeing of Mumbai after breakfast. Visit Gateway of India, Colaba, Marine Drive, Hutatma Chowk, Victoria Terminus and Rajabai Clock Tower. Take flight back to home in late evening.
